We have been traveling with our now 20 month’s year old daughter quite a lot, both nationally and internationally. One important thing I always think about beforehand is how to keep her entertained especially for the long travel days to up to 24 hours. And to be honest it is not necessary to take a bunch of toys with you when traveling with an infant or baby 0 – 12 months old. Everything is new for them and they like to discover their surroundings. BUT… I like to have only a few toys, maybe 5-6, inside my diaper bag just in case. So, let’s dive right into my suggestions for 7 awesome travel toys for babies 0-12 months old with a BONUS tip at the end.

The best way to keep babies entertained is to bring sensory toys as they love to discover new textures and sounds. Of course when traveling via air make sure to NOT bring the toys with all the sound effects to not bother other passengers.
Here are my, or better my daughters, favorite travel toys:
1. Teethers
Babies tend to put everything in their mouth, so teethers are a great toy to bring when traveling. This one was my daughters absolute favorite. We couldn’t go anywhere without it. But there are so many different teethers out there. I would recommend bringing just your child’s favorite one.
2. Indestructible books
Those indestructible books are just awesome for infants and little babies. They are chew proof, nontoxic, cant get ripped and are 100% washable. This is one of the books that we have.
3. Pop-Its
Pop-Its come in all shapes, sizes and colors and will keep you baby entertained for quite some time, I was very surprised.
4. Fidget Spinners
Fidget spinners have gone everywhere with us. They are great for car & air travel, but also to keep baby occupied in restaurants. These are the ones we have and they are great, because they have suctioning cups and stick easily to the airplane window or tray table.
5. Tiny Cars
Tiny cars, like these ones, are perfect for on the go as they are small and fit in every bag AND they keep your baby super entertained. When flying you can even bring this awesome road tape and stick it on the tray table to make it more fun.
6. Magnetic Blocks & Puzzles
Babies love to with blocks and stacking cups, at least y daughter could play with them for a very long time. For travel I super recommend magnetic stacking blocks like these ones. Another awesome option is to bring magnetic puzzles.
7. Stuffed Animal or Lovey
My daughter loves stuffed animals. Whenever she sees one she immediately gets a big smile on her face. It makes her so happy to cuddle them and they give her comfort especially on long flights and road trips. They also help her sleep much better. I totally recommend bringing your little ones favorite stuffed animal or lovey.

BONUS
When you are flying with your baby or infant and none of the toys you bring help to keep them entertained, I can tell you from my experience, they will love playing with the plastic cubs, seat belt and the security manual. Everything is new for them, and they like to discover their surroundings. You might even be lucky and have some really friendly people sitting next to you that play peekaboo with your little one.
